Leadership Track
All leaders share a foundation
Before stepping into any leadership role, we expect the following:
- Regular Sunday worship attendance
- Faith in Christ and baptism
- Completion of the 'Discovery Group' and 'Partnership Class'
- Active involvement in a Community Group
- A growing life of prayer, Scripture, and accountability
- Willingness to be led, formed, and served
Community Group Leader
Purpose: Shepherd a small group toward spiritual transformation and belonging.
The Pathway:
- Discovery Group + Partnership
- Regular CG participant for at least 1 year
- Year 1: Living Life + Emotionally Healthy Spirituality
- Shadowing/Co-leading with current CG Leader
- Year 2: Formation Training
- Year 3: Leadership Training
- Leadership Covenant & Expectations Agreement
Ministry Team Leader
Purpose: Equip and mobilize others to serve faithfully in a ministry area.
The Pathway:
- Discovery Group + Partnership
- Consistent ministry serving (6+ months)
- Year 1: Living Life + Emotionally Healthy Spirituality
- Year 2: Formation Training
- Year 3: Leadership Training
- Leadership Covenant & Expectations Agreement
Deacon
Purpose: Model servanthood and compassion by overseeing practical care in the church.
The Pathway:
- All of the above expectations
- Year 4: Equipping Track (Deacon Training Cohort + Discernment Process)
- Known for godly character, humility, and faithfulness (1 Tim. 3:8-13)
- Nominated and affirmed by pastors and the church
Elder
Purpose: Provide spiritual oversight, shepherding, and doctrinal guarding for the church body.
The Pathway:
- All of the above expectations, plus:
- Demonstrated maturity, biblical knowledge, and a shepherd's heart
- Year 4: Equipping Track (Elder Training Cohort + Discernment Process)
- Meets biblical elder qualifications (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)
- Undergo elder interviews and the affirmation process
- The final appointment requires a vote of affirmation from the CLCC partners
